Day 20 - Cape Breton Island

Today was a long day of driving and really getting nowhere as it was one giant circle! Lol!
When I headed out it was heavily overcast but the fog seemed to have lifted for the time being!
It took about an hour to reach the Cabot trail and there were a few sights along the way...

But when I finally reached the trail the true beauty began! It was hard to capture what I was seeing due to how overcast it was and how vast the sights were, but I tried my best!

There were lovely beach type areas all along the drive! Unfortunately it was way to cold to do much more then dip a toe in it!

For the most part the trail wound along the shore which created quite the twisty, hilly drive!

Then when I was about half-way around I ran into clouds!! I was so high up in the mountains and the clouds were hanging so low that next thing I knew I was driving thru them! Made for a less then ideal driving conditions, and made me laugh when I came to look out points and all you could see was white! You knew the ocean was down there somewhere but you couldn't see a thing!

It was a beautiful drive and the Fall colours would be stunning! I must admit though by the time I finished razor backing my way up and down the mountains and rounding curves at 30kph because any faster would've sent you over the cliff....I was more then ready to get back to some good old highway! Beauty or no beauty!

I had planned to stay in Port Hawksbury  again for night, but due to a creepy employee at the truck stop there this morning I decided to keep going! So I'm curled up in Truro, Nova Scotia for the night!😊

  1. Boy it really is too bad that the weather was that way. It can be one of the most beautiful places but it's even better if you can see it LOL
